A challenge from the Rector for 2017!

5th January 2017 by Ros Greenhalgh Leave a Comment

It was lovely to see all our Christmas celebrations so well supported – from Father Christmas, to family events and Crib Services, to Community Carols, to Carol Services and through to our Christmas Day Celebrations. A huge thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who worked so hard to make them a success –  flower arrangers, bell ringers, singers, readers, musicians, suppliers of numerous mince pies and mulled wine, those who gave gifts for hampers and for children… and so the list goes on. Thank you so much. We couldn’t have done it without you!

It goes without saying that we’d love to welcome as many people as possible into our churches each week and if there is something that we’re not doing, but that you would like us to do, then please get in touch.

As an encouragement, I came across this little challenge last week from the Church of Scotland:

A 2017 Church Challenge

If you are an ‘every Sunday’ person –

will you commit to that for 2017?

If you are a ‘3 Sundays a month’ person –

could you make it 4 for 2017?

If you are a ‘twice a month’ person –

how about 3 times a month for 2017?

If you are a ‘once a month’ person –

could you be in church twice a month in 2017?

If you are a ‘never go to church person’, give it a try in 2017 –

you might be surprised,

and we won’t expect to see you every week,

and we won’t put your name on a rota (unless you ask us to).

We’d love for you to share your journey of hope and faith with us.
